Brunette Again, Coffee, and Groceries
Being brunette for me is like finally exhaling after holding my breath for a minute underwater. It's like waving the white flag to the Hair Gods, surrendering all of my "I'm just going to grow out this blonde color, regardless of all awkward stage" notions.
Seeing your natural (or as close to natural as you can get) hair color on yourself is like hanging out with an old friend. Oh, hey! I kinda missed you. Finally, your hair isn't the same color as your skin.
There definitely is strategy behind this new asymmetrical hairstyle I'm sporting in addition to the color. I'm currently in the process of attempting to gracefully grow out a pretty drastic undercut which took off the entire back of my head and left sideburn-ish region of my cheek.
The hair had finally made its way to being twoish inches long, so I figured, "what the heck, let's just chop it all that length!"
Aside from the one long piece I refused to part with. Think Posh Spice, only not Posh Spice.
Honestly, I didn't even use any chemicals to achieve this look. I used a botanical blend of henna, senna, and indigo mixed with warm water (smelled like a mixture between goat poop, marijuana, and green tea), and it's dubbed Light Mountain Hair Dye.
The dye really did work, and it was also very stinky, creamy, and conditioning. I only used half of the powder mix, and plan on touching up with the other half. It was a very odd experience, but a lot more fun than mixing together chemicals I know to be harmful. I made it in my kitchen!
Some other views from our day include snagging some goodies at The Foundry Coffeehouse here in Tyler.
We've recently been trying to be mindful of our sugar intake, and only opt for organic milk from grass-fed cows. I also don't prefer coffee in the middle of the day for various reasons, mainly, my car is currently reading 107 degrees and I'd prefer it if my liquids remained cold and icy, like black tea or lemon water!
Try as I might, cold brew isn't my jam. It just leaves a sour taste in my mouth, and still sits heavily in my stomach. Sorry!
I won't every deny a good unsweetened organic black tea, as pictured here! Also, if you stick with teas, simple drip, or cortados like Collin's, you can get your caffeine boost and keep your tab low!
Next stop: our organic grocery store. We definitely love coming here, and it's only been open for a couple of months! Our little town is shaping up to be too cool for its own good.
Our haul was discounted greens (eat them quick!), gourmet pickles (my ultimate craving!), sauerkraut (another craving), baby carrots, Glutenfrida natural oats, organic watermelon, and a few other things!
Baby brunette Karsyn says hay from 1995. Getting all glammed out for no doubt a happening diaper party.
