#WhereWill2016TakeYou + Weekend Bag Company Collab
Did February ever happen?!
The time has come for the travel bug to start captivating me at every corner.
Don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about --- from every shot of sandy toes to a mere glimpse of a heavenly forest scene, my heart is yearning to grab my things and go, even if it's just for a quick weekend getaway.
Personally, we've been dying to pay my family a visit in Colorado. Growing up in a household of four (my parents, my brother, and myself), I've always felt very closely involved in what my family is up to, and it was really difficult to say goodbye once my parents moved from Tyler. Collin and I have been able to visit them three times in the past three years, so that's been tough to say the least!
Fortunately, we've found several flight deals to make the trip hopefully before the summer, and were so excited! I'm definitely a mountain-minded person, though the snow isn't really my favorite ;).
I guess that means it's time to pack a bag and GO!
Collin and I like to travel light and have been known to share one checked bag when flying, with a backpack for each of our carry-ons. I'm so thrilled to have finally been able to find a versatile way to pack for such a trip, without having to meander several different bagging techniques!
With the The New Standard canvas bag by the new and innovative Weekend Bag Company, you can travel light without sacrificing careful storage and the luxury of hand-crafted detail, making this product essential for any world traveler!
The bag is fully collapsible and can easily be stored when not in use, which is perfect for those with limited closet space at home. Not only is it a sleek black canvas design, but its size is also approved for an airplane carry-on.
No more fumbling through your collection of bags to choose what *might* fit in the overhead container!
I'm a firm believer that minimal is best, less is more---especially with my wardrobe! The bag can hold four hanging items, allowing for a revolutionarily unique wrinkle-proof storage experience.
Whether you prefer to pack four dresses (like myself), or four button ups (like Collin), you can relax knowing you won't have to be an annoying houseguest awkwardly searching your friend's closets to locate their ironing board.
Once you've secured your hanging garments, the bag zips up to a complex duffel design, with designated space for your favorite pair of shoes, and multiple pockets for various technology devices and bathroom supplies.
Another amazing component of this bag is the fact that when piloted by both Collin and myself, we were able to fit everything we wanted as individuals, pairing the bag with our own fashion choices! It's so nice to be able to have such a versatile option for both of us to enjoy.
Don't forget all those other things you'll need on the flight/waiting in the cold airport! Personally, we always choose to wear our heaviest and fluffiest attire that day to our flight. Regardless of the tight squeeze to get your coat to fit in that little seat, it's worth not working up a sweat while trying to pack it!
"The only bag you will ever need for short trips. Unzipped, the New Standard is a garment bag that fits up to 4 dress shirts and 2 pair of pants or 2 full suits. Once you zip up the the sides, the New Standard is a duffel bag that fits multiple days worth of clothes and accessories. The bag features shoe pockets that fit up to a men's size 13, three internal zippered pockets, and one zippered pocket on the outside. The New Standard is airline carry on compliant." -Weekend Bag Company
The company is one filled with an adventurous heart, started by a husband and wife team, which we truly relate to and enjoy! With love the company was made, and it shows in their passion about travel and exploration. We were so drawn to their message that we can benefit so much by spending our time and money on experiences rather than things. Having affordable, quality items that will last you are better than having multiple disposable substitutes, ammiright?!
"We are Jon and Melissa Briggs, a husband and wife team currently living in Houston, Texas with our two year old daughter. We spent her formative years shuffling back and forth between Houston and Sao Paulo, Brazil, where we lived for over a year. As frequent travelers, we found there was a desperate need for travel bags that were both simple, functional, and affordable- this is where the idea for The New Standard took root and began to grow."
